Arcadia anticipates expanded production as Yolo County adjusts hemp rules

For at least a while longer, it will be illegal for farmers to grow commercial hemp in the open in Yolo County, even as psychoactive cannabis is legal. The Yolo County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to extend a moratorium on hemp cultivation until they can study the issue further.
One major concession made by supervisors, however, will allow for hemp grown in greenhouses by companies and researchers such as Arcadia Biosciences Inc. and the University of California Davis.
