T.J. Schaefer
Thomas J. Schaefer was appointed chief executive officer in July 2024. He joined Arcadia in July 2020 and has held several key positions, most recently chief financial officer. An accomplished executive with more than 20 years of experience in investments and corporate finance, Schaefer began his career as an equity research analyst. Later, he moved into consumer products across a variety of industries including vitamins and apparel, as well as private equity-owned portfolio companies in snacks and flavors. Schaefer earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in economics and finance from McKendree University and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Kawakami
Mark Kawakami is Arcadia’s chief financial officer. He joined the company in September 2021 as the director of finance, and recently served as vice president of finance. Kawakami brings more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience to the role, with a background in industries such as convenience and retail grocery, food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and financial services. He has held roles in a variety of finance functions including controllership, financial planning & analysis, and financial project management. Kawakami is a graduate of the University of Southern California where he earned both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA.
